Nikki is a multi award winning entrepreneur, starting her first business - a fashion e-commerce for bigger buster girls - at the age of 23 whilst still at university. Going on to appear on Dragons Den, securing £250,000 of private investment and employing sixteen machinists at her factory in Preston.
The success of the business was built on sales generated from Facebook Ads and social media - as one of the earliest adopters of the advertising model in 2010.
Exiting the business in 2015 to take extended maternity leave when she had her youngest son, she now owns Hesford Media, a specialist Facebook Ads agency which was founded in 2017 and is based in Blackpool.
Why Google ads people aren’t the natural choice you think they are for Facebook ads
It is not uncommon to see Google/Facebook ads grouped together as a single skill - as though if you can do one competently, it is a simple transition to the other. This couldn’t be further from the truth.
While the principles of the auction and bidding may be the same, the success of Facebook ads is largely dependent on funnel planning, compelling creatives and psychological warfare!
Selling something to someone who is already looking for it relies on an algorithmic skill of bidding strategically to achieve the lowest cost per acquisition - getting the best clicks, best position, best pricing. But selling something to someone who doesn’t yet know they want it is a completely different skill set.
You need to sell the sizzle not the sausage. Google ads you just need to sell the sausage effectively.
